Giorgia Bronzini isone of the leading figures in Italian cycling. A fast and skilful sprinter, she has excelled for over fifteen years at the very highest level, both on the road and on the track.

World champion in the points race on the track in 2009, she went on to become a double world champion on the road in 2010 and 2011. Her honours also include eight stage wins in the Women’s Giro d’Italia and numerous international successes.

This item is the bronze medal won by Giorgia Bronzini at the 2007 Italian Women’s Road Championships. The elite women’s race took place on 28 June 2007 in Varazze, Liguria, over a distance of 113.7 kilometres. The victory went to Eva Lechner, ahead of Luisa Tamanini. Giorgia Bronzini took third place and was awarded the bronze medal shown here.

This medal serves as a direct testament to Giorgia Bronzini’s national career prior to her three world titles won on the track and on the road. Its tricolour ribbon, inscriptions and provenance enable the object to be precisely placed within its sporting context. Her gold medal as Italian champion of the points race on track – 2008

Giorgia Bronzini is one of the great figures of Italian women's cycling. A talented sprinter, she has excelled both on the track and on the road.

Her record includes the title of world champion in the points race in 2009, as well as two consecutive titles of world road champion, won in Geelong in 2010 and in Copenhagen in 2011. She also has numerous international victories, including eight stages of the Giro d'Italia Femminile.

This piece is the gold medal won by Giorgia Bronzini at the 2008 Italian Championship in the points race on the track.

The points race is an endurance event in which competitors score points during intermediate sprints and by lapping the peloton. In 2008, Giorgia Bronzini won the national title ahead of Eleonora Soldo and Marta Tagliaferro. This victory heralded her world title won the following year in the same discipline in Pruszków, Poland.

This medal attests to Giorgia Bronzini's remarkable versatility and her success on the velodromes before her two world road titles. Her tricolour ribbon, her inscriptions, and the accompanying documents allow her to be precisely placed in her sporting context.

               His silver medal in the scratch race 2009                     Cali Track World Cup

Giorgia Bronzini is one of the great Italian champions of her generation. Excellent sprinter, she had a brilliant career on the track as well as on the road.

In 2009, she became the world champion in the points race in Pruszków. She then won two consecutive world road race titles, in Geelong in 2010 and in Copenhagen in 2011.

This piece is the silver medal won by Giorgia Bronzini in the scratch race during the round of the Track World Cup held in Cali, Colombia, in December 2009.

The scratch is an event in which all the competitors start simultaneously. The ranking is determined by the order of arrival at the end of the distance. In Cali, Giorgia Bronzini took second place, behind the Belarusian Tatsiana Sharakova and ahead of the Cuban Yumari González. Thanks to her regularity during the different rounds, the Italian also finished second in the final overall ranking of the 2009-2010 scratch World Cup.

Kept with its identification note and displayed alongside photographs of the champion, it constitutes a precious memento of the 2009 Cali Track World Cup.
