ARGENTIN Moreno (I)

His 1986 Road World Champion’s jersey
A leading figure in Italian cycling during the 1980s and 1990s, Moreno Argentin, born in 1960 in San Donà di Piave, made a name for himself particularly in the major classics. A rider of remarkable tactical intelligence and possessing formidable sprinting power, his honours include four victories at Liège–Bastogne–Liège, three at the Flèche Wallonne, as well as the Tour of Flanders and the Tour of Lombardy.
In 1986, Argentin reached one of the high points of his career by winning the Road World Championships in Colorado Springs, ahead of the Frenchman Charly Mottet and the Italian Giuseppe Saronni. This victory entitled him to wear the prestigious rainbow jersey – the universal symbol of the world cycling champion – for one year.
The jersey presented here is therefore a valuable testament to this exceptional period in Moreno Argentin’s career and in the history of international cycling. With its rainbow stripes and his team’s logos, it links this sporting artefact to the memory of a champion who remains one of the great classics specialists of his era.

ARNAUD Dominique (F)

His French national team jersey worn at the 1983 Road World Championships
Dominique Arnaud was one of the most consistent French cyclists of the 1970s and 1980s. A professional for nearly fifteen seasons, he stood out for his fighting spirit and his climbing ability. Notably, he won the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré in 1979 and took part in several Tours de France, where he proved to be a particularly valuable team-mate.
His French national team jersey – 1983 World Championships
The jersey shown here is the one worn by Dominique Arnaud in the colours of the French national team during the 1983 Road World Championships, held in Altenrhein, Switzerland.
Blue in colour, it features a wide blue-white-red stripe across the chest, as well as the tricolour on the collar and cuffs. This distinctive design, characteristic of the French national team, bears witness to an era when selection for the World Championships was a true honour for a professional cyclist.
Preserved in the collection, this jersey is a valuable testament not only to Dominique Arnaud’s career and his selection for the French national team, but also to French cycling in the early 1980s.

BAFFI Adriano (I)

His winner’s jersey from the 1990 Six Days of Zurich
Born in Vailate, Lombardy, Adriano Baffi was one of the leading Italian figures in road and track cycling in the late 20th century. A fast sprinter and an excellent track cyclist, he enjoyed a long professional career from 1985 onwards. His honours include five stage wins at the Giro d’Italia, a stage win at the Vuelta and several victories at Paris–Nice. In 1993, he also won the points classification at the Giro d’Italia.
Particularly at home in Six-Day races, Baffi formed a remarkable track duo with his compatriot Pierangelo Bincoletto. Together, they notably won the Zurich Six Days in 1989 and 1990.
The jersey presented here is associated with this victory at the 1990 Zurich Six Days. Preserved as a collector’s item, this jersey serves as a tangible testament to Adriano Baffi’s track cycling career and to a particularly prestigious era in European Six-Day racing.
